As long as I can remember I’ve been trying to “create” with a camera. When I was a kid I tried to get “arty” pictures at night with a Kodak Instamatic camera. Looking back that was the equivalent of trying to make a Swiss watch with a Jackhammer, the pictures were totally black!
Technically I was born in the wrong country, I love skiing and played ice hockey… how did that happen?! South Africa is RUGBY COUNTRY! What I know about rugby can be used against me in a court of law, I nod and wave when I’m with my friends watching games on the telly.
My family is originally from the UK and I’m the only one of my 4 brothers lucky enough to be still mostly living living in South Africa, and lets face it Cape Town is just gorgeous!
I’ve been shooting for years and have hundreds of weddings under my belt. Even after all these years I still love it as much as I ever did. Through my camera I’ve been privileged to see and experience the most amazing things from hot air balloon weddings to jumping into the “Devils Pool” on the edge of the world famous Victoria falls.
I’ve seen the big 5 in their natural habitat something I fear won’t be possible to far into the future. While shooting a corporate event in the Kruger park I sat on an African Elephant’s knee, as one does. I’ve also been lucky enough to be involved in the tagging of a black rhino for nature conservation… photography is in my blood and live eat and breath it 🙂
